April 1, 2008 – On Friday, April 4, Duanesburg Central
School District will host its annual Talent Show at 6:30
p.m. in the middle/high school gym. This exciting event will
include more than 20 acts featuring students in kindergarten
through twelfth grade showing off their talents singing,
dancing, juggling, playing musical instruments and much
more.
Tickets are $4 for general admission, $3 for senior citizens
and children under school age are free. All are welcome!
Proceeds from the event will
benefit the Select Choir to help fund their upcoming field
trip to New York City where they will participate in a
two-hour workshop with Broadway performers, eat lunch at the
Hard Rock Café and attend the Broadway play, Mary Poppins.
Prior to the performance, students will meet with the actors
in-person, ask questions and find out what it takes to reach
this performance level.
“The students are able to see the performer as a real person
and then later see him transformed into his character on
stage,” said music teacher Mira Ordon. “It is amazing to
watch the reaction of students as they see this caliber
performance. I have taken a number of students on this trip
and it is inspirational.”
