Picture of the Ashley Jackman's winning poster to appear in the 2008 NYS Department of Energy and Conservation calendar November 30, 2007 -- Marcy McKinley's environmental studies class shared their artistic talent and commitment to the environment during a unit on recycling last year.

The entire class created an array of posters promoting the importance of recycling for the 2007 NY Recycles! poster contest, sponsored by the New York State Department of Energy Conservation.

Posters designed by Ashley Jackman, Holly Hoffman and Nick Schiavone were submitted to the annual competition. All of the posters were evaluated by the class, McKinley and art teacher Kevin DiTondo to select the top three posters for submission.

In mid November, Jackman was recognized for her outstanding concept and design. She was awarded a certificate of accomplishment and a framed copy of her poster, pictured right. In addition, Jackman's poster will appear in a 2008 calendar to be distributed throughout the state.
