Sept. 14, 2009—It started out as a slow passing game with
both coaches maneuvering the players into different
positions on the field—building the teams on the fly and
watching them work together.
At half-time
the score was still 0-0. But, things started to heat up for
the Eagles during the second half. The players began making
opportunities happen, taking more shots and building their
intensity and sportsmanship. The game went into double
overtime with both teams taking shots and missing goals by
only a few inches. The defense was on high-level alert and
offense was soaring in for an attack.
And then it happened… With a great cross from Ben Brand
outside the 18 yard line and onto the knee of Matt St. John
and off of the head of Eric McGuire—the Eagle’s
scored—making the final score Duanesburg-1 and BKW-0. Great
job to both teams on an amazing game!
