August 19,
2009—As students trade in their swimsuits for backpacks and
head back to school, it’s important for parents/guardians to
help them get off to good start. Two important events are
coming up that can help set the stage for a successful
school year—open house and the parent/teacher conference
day.
Open house
Open house provides parents an opportunity to meet the
building principal, librarians, school nurse and others.
It’s also the time when parents can meet their child’s
teacher, learn what their child will study and what is
expected in the coming year. This is the time to ask
big-picture questions—save questions and concerns about
student’s individual performance for the parent-teacher
conference day.
Open house
will be held on the following dates. All events will begin
at 6:30 p.m.
-
K-2 Open
House: Wednesday, Sept. 16, Duanesburg Elementary School
-
Grades 3-5
Open House: Wedneday, Sept. 23, Duanesburg Elementary

Parent-teacher conferences

parent/guardian and teacher. This year’s conferences will be
held for parents of students districtwide on Thursday, Nov.
19, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. or during the day on Friday, Nov.
