Sept. 16, 2009—The Duanesburg High School Guidance Web page offers a variety of useful information for parents and students who would like to know more about student services, college preparation and/or career resources. Several news items of interest on the Web page right now include:

SUNY Albany Hosting College Fair: More than 30 SUNY colleges will have representatives at the 2009 SUNY Albany College Fair on Wednesday, September 16, at 6 p.m. at the University at Albany's SEFCU Arena, also known as the Recreation and Convocation Center (RACC). Both two- and four-year colleges will be represented.

PLAN and PSAT tests to be offered in October: Duanesburg will be offering students the opportunity to take the PLAN and PSAT exams in October. Students may register in the guidance office beginning on Sept. 21, by paying the registration fee with cash or a check made payable to Duanesburg Central Schools. The PSAT will be held for juniors and advanced sophomores on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 8:15 a.m. and the PLAN will be given to sophomores on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 8:15 a.m.

Field trip to SUNY Cobleksill's College Fair: Juniors and seniors interested in attending the SUNY Cobleskill's Career Fair on Monday, Oct. 19, may sign-up in the guidance office. Transportation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and a maximum of 40 students will be accepted. The bus will leave from the middle/high school at 11 a.m. and return at 1 p.m. Students will have one hour to peruse the fair. Students may not, under any circumstances, drive themselves to the fair and must return to the district via the school bus.

Duanesburg's Fourth Annual Career Fair and Second Annual Student In-Service Day: Duanesburg will hold its fourth annual high school career fair in conjunction with the second annual student in-service day on Thursday, Oct. 22. The festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m., and run throughout the day. Parents are welcome to attend.
