Raffle Winners Announced: Justin Bolton won the Nintendo DSi, David Nicolella won the Ipod Shuffle and Thomas VanValen won the $25 Target gift card.

May 7, 2009 - Take your chances by purchasing raffle tickets and win a new Nintendo DSi, Apple iPod shuffle or $25 target gift card.

Raffle tickets are currently being sold in multiple denominations to benefit Duanesburg Elementary School’s new Peer-to-Peer program, which is designed to assist students with social skill deficits.

The group has been meeting twice per month since the beginning of the school year. It has been such a success that the advisors would like to continue offering the program throughout the summer. However, in order to cover overhead costs, the summer session has a fee attached. Proceeds raised from the raffle will be used to help offset the total cost.

Raffle tickets may be purchased by downloading the attached form and returning it, along with cash or a check made out to the Duanesburg Central School District, to first-grade teacher Jessie Westfall by Wednesday, May 20. Tickets will also be available for purchase during the budget vote on Tuesday, May 19, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Duanesburg Elementary School.

The drawing will be held on May 21 during the elementary school’s morning news show. Results will also be posted online.

To help fund the program in future years, grants are currently being pursued.
