*April 21, 2009 Update - The two-year term previously announced for John Iseman is no longer on the May 19 ballot. He remains on the board at this time. 

March 11, 2009 – Three seats on Duanesburg Central School District’s Board of Education will be up for election on Tuesday, May 19.

Long-time board president Raymond Hawes and vice president James Breitenstein are not seeking re-election. Incumbent Bridget Holmes has announced her intention to run for another term.

“We wish each of them the best in the years ahead and thank them for their many years of dedicated service,” said Superintendent Chris Crowley. “Ray and Jim's commitment to education and to the students of our district will be greatly missed.”

Board petitions available

Residents interested in running for any of the seats may download a nominating petition from the district Web site. Petitions are also available in the district office at 133 School Drive, Delanson, or by calling 895-2279. Petitions must be filed with the district clerk no later than Monday, April 20, at 5 p.m.

The Duanesburg Central school District’s Board of Education is comprised of seven board members who serve three-year terms. Members are elected by voters of the district, and receive no salaries or other compensation.
