Coach Bena achieves 500th win

December 23, 2006 - Duanesburg Wrestling Coach Joe Bena reached his 500th career victory on Thursday, December 21, against Berne-Knox Westerlo.

Bena is the most  successful coach in New York State history. His success comes after more than 41 seasons of coaching. After retiring from the Niskayuna school district Bena joined DCS in 2003.

Duanesburg is off to a 14-0 record this season winning the Montgomery and Duanesburg Dual meet tournaments. Juniors Brian Borst and Wesley Coppolo have earned 100 wins in their career.
