District staff
recognized; gear up for the school year
September 6, 2006 - Duanesburg Central School
District Superintendent Dr. Mark Villanti welcomed new and
returning staff to the district yesterday, Tuesday, September 5.
Staff returned to school early to participate in two staff development days prior to the
start of school.
Staff enjoyed a continental
breakfast prior to a presentation by Dr. Villanti. Several new staff members were
introduced and returning staff were recognized for their service
to the district.
The following staff were
honored for more than 10 Years of Service:
- Wendy
Bell, transportation department and
- Diane
Murphy, kitchen manager at the elementary school.
Staff honored for more than 20
Years of Service were:
- Angela
Brayden, foreign language teacher at the middle/high school;
- Jean
Ceniviva, art teacher at the middle/high school;
- Bonnie
Chiofalo, paraprofessional at the elementary school;
- Sue Clark, social studies teacher
at the middle/high school;
- Kathy
Lavigne, principal's secretary at the elementary school;
- Marie Rem,
foreign language teacher at the middle/high school; and
- Meg
Wyanski, special education at the elementary school.
The following staff were
honored for more than 30 Years of Service:
- Bob Allen,
science teacher at the middle/high school and
- Toni
Amorosi, math teacher at the middle/high school.
In addition to setting up classrooms and attending
departmental meetings, Elementary School teachers attended a
writing/language arts workshop by Tanya Schnabl of the Capital
Area School Development Association (CASDA) in the afternoon.
