Chaperones needed for
fourth-annual Career Expo on March 20
January 28, 2007 - A minimum of eight-parents
are needed to attend, as chaperones, an annual career exploration
event for tenth-grade students on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the
Schenectady County Community College.
Career Expo is an annual event
sponsored by the Schenectady Chamber of Commerce and SCCC. All seven
Schenectady County high schools will have the opportunity to visit
SCCC and listen to two panels of speakers on various career fields.
This is the fourth-year for this great event. More than 100
businesses are expected to attend to share their knowledge,
experience and advice with students. The program was created by the
Business and Education Partnership, a collaborative groups that
include school representatives from Duanesburg, Burnt Hills-Ballston
Lake, Mohonasen, Niskayuna, Schalmont, Scotia-Glenville, Schenectady City and Schenectady Christian school
districts.
The buses will leave Duanesburg at approximately 10:30 a.m. to go to
SCCC. The students will stop at Rotterdam Mall after the Career Expo
for lunch and return to Duanesburg High School by approximately 2:15
p.m.
If you're interested in serving as a
chaperone or have any questions, contact HS Guidance Counselor
Alicia Kirkpatrick at 518-895-5350, ext. 268 or by e-mail at
