Veterans' Day at Duanesburg High School

High School students were reminded that Veterans' Day is "not just a day off, but a day to honor our heroes," by actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, the National Honorary Spokesperson for Veterans Day.

In a video from the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs, Love Hewitt spoke about the importance of honoring veterans not just on Veterans' Day, but all year long for the sacrifices they have made for our country.

Last year the same clip was shown to social studies classes, but this year with technology available, it was broadcast during the morning news to all classes. It was also available for high school seniors with late arrival privileges to view in the conference room if they chose.
"We decided to offer the video clip again this year because it's an upbeat presentation that students pay attention to because it comes from the perspective of a young adult that students may relate to," said Principal Bill LeForestier.
