There is a rumor circulating that 2 needles were found in a middle school hallway recently and picked up by students. Can you please inform me of any details.

During school a couple of weeks ago, a middle
school student discovered an empty syringe lying on the ground in the
school hallway. No needle was attached to the plastic syringe and no
contents appeared in the barrel of the syringe.
The student immediately brought the syringe to a teacher, who contacted
school administrators. The syringe was then turned over to School
Resource Officer Chip Johnstone, who launched an investigation. However,
Mr. Johnstone was unable to identify any former substances in the
syringe or where it came from. There are several legitimate reasons why
a syringe may have be found in school, such as for individuals with
diabetic or self-medicating needs, which requires the use of syringes.
Despite this, not having it disposed of properly is of concern since the
safety of all students is of the upmost importance.
This is the only incident involving a syringe. However, a student found
a sewing needle in the hallway about a week following the incident, and
disposed of it immediately.
