Spring College Fair to be held May 7 at HVCC
Juniors, seniors and their parents are invited to attend the 2008 Spring College Fair on Wednesday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to noon and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Edward F. McDonough Recreation Center, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue in Troy. This is a great opportunity to explore a vast array of colleges. Representatives from more than 200 colleges will be there, including public and private, four-year and two-year, large and small, liberal arts and vocational colleges. Military branches will also be there. A number of institutions representing financial options will also be on-site. Admission is free. Click here for more information.

Nov. 26 - From becoming a veterinarian to an attorney, teacher or police officer, high school students explored a variety of career opportunities on Nov. 6.

In its second year, the career fair organized by high school counselor Alicia Kirkpatrick, provides freshman, sophomore and junior students with an informal opportunity to meet with different professionals. This year, fifteen representatives were on-site at the Duanesburg Middle/High School to answer student's questions, describe their career and employer as well as detail their educational background. Greetings from guidance!
Sept. 10 - I hope that you have had a fun and relaxing summer. I am eager for all of the students to return and once again fill the high school with life and learning.

Some changes have occurred while you were gone. Mr. Silverman's office is now outside of the cafeteria, in what was the Speech Room. Mrs. DeLuke is now in my old office and I have moved to what was Mr. Silverman's office. Mrs. Dickson remains in the heart of the school Counseling Office.

This year, I want  to stay in contact with all of my students and parents as much as possible. I openly invite everyone to contact me with any questions, concerns or ideas. Together we are all a team working to provide the best education and experience possible to your sons' and daughters'.

This year, I would like to reach out and include parents in more school involvement and activities. There are many ways to be involved in your sons' and daughters education and not all have to happen between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. This year I will try to keep you posted and informed on options and possibilities available to you.
