Late Birthday Parent Meeting
Parent/guardians of incoming kindergartners who have a late
birthday, July 1 - November 30, 2004, are invited to attend a
meeting on Thursday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Duanesburg Elementary
School. The kindergarten teachers, Deb Johnson, Bridget Minute and
Angela Daddario, as well as the elementary school Principal Erica
Ryan, will be available to discuss your childs readiness for school
with the option of a one-year delayed entrance.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2009-10
school year will be held on April 7 and 8, 2009
at the Duanesburg Elementary School
(165 Chadwick Road, Delanson, NY).
To be eligible, children must be 5 years old by December 1, 2009.
The following items must be presented during registration: a birth
certificate or other legal proof of age, guardianship/custodial
documentation, immunization records, and
three proofs of residency
as outlined in district procedure.
New York State law
also requires that children must have the following immunizations,
BEFORE they can enter kindergarten:
- 3 doses of diphtheria;
- 3 doses of polio;
- 3 doses of hepatitis B;
- 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella);
- 1 dose varicella (chicken
pox) vaccine;

Dental health certificate,
reporting that a comprehensive dental exam has been completed.
A scheduled mailing is targeted for
March 20, 2009. The mailing is based on the census completed in
2007. If you are new to our district and have not completed a
current census, or have a kindergarten age child, please call the
elementary school at 895-8310.
Kindergarten
Orientation
Kindergarten orientation
is held at Duanesburg Elementary School each year in September. This is an
opportunity for kindergartners and their parents to become familiar
with the school district, layout of the elementary school and with
transportation services. Transportation Supervisor Harry Folckemer
and Head Bus Driver Peg Venter are available to answer any
questions or concerns.
