Technology Room
To meet the demands of the 21st
century, the technology room will be completely redesigned
within its current footprint to create a better learning space
for the technology lab, sound proof TV/radio station and
multipurpose media technology room.
Students in Jeff Rivenburg's technology classes often complain of not enough space. If approved, the capital project will transform the existing classroom into a highly functional and more effective learning space for students. This would create a better space for the technology lab, sound proof TV/radio studio and multipurpose media technology room. The entire technology room would be redesigned within its current footprint. As you can see the current layout of the room is not adequate. Today's technology classes use computer software to design and produce state-of-the-art projects. Digital electronics, media production, aerospace, architectural drawing and engineering are just some of the technology classes currently offered. Students produce movies, author Web sites, create Power point presentations, design and produce model airplanes and much more. Right now students accomplish these tasks in a classroom that was built nearly 40 years ago. The current configuration needs to be completely redesigned in order to continue meeting the demands of the 21st century. Picture of the main entrance into the technology room. Another view of the main entrance. View of the technology room. Proposed improvements include adding a dual utility/hand washing sink and eye wash station. Lack of adequate storage space is a concern. The proposal calls for providing additional storage space for tools and equipment. Electrical and mechanical issues will also be addressed. The roof above the technology room is in need of repair. Other improvements include improving the rooms security and emergency alarm system. Remember to vote on Tuesday, December 12, from 1 - 9 p.m. at the Duanesburg Elementary School Gym.

Rainbow Room/Art Annex
To continue using the Rainbow
Room/Art Annex (green building located outside the main entrance
of the secondary campus), the building must be connected to the
municipal water and sewer systems, a bathroom and sink need to
be added and the flooring needs to be replaced.
The rainbow room/art annex is the green relocatable classroom located outside the main entrance of the middle/high school. The building is currently being used as an additional art room. To continue using this facility, several items must be addressed. The builiding must be connected to the municipal water and sewer system. A sink would be added to replace Art Teacher Kevin DiTondo's "homemade" sink to get water in and out of the building. Water currently leaves the building through the white pipe pictured above. Students have to walk outside to use the bathroom in the main building. A handicap accessible bathroom is proposed for the space pictured above. The flooring would be replaced with vinyl tile. Heating issues caused by exhaust from the kiln would also be corrected. Remember to vote on Tuesday, December 12, from 1 - 9 p.m. in the Duanesburg Elementary School Gym.

Locker Rooms
Renovations are proposed for the
boys' and girls' locker rooms to address the poor condition of
the current facilities.
The following pictures are of the boys' locker rooms. You can see the wear and tear of the shower tiles and fixtures. DCS students and competiting schools are unable to shower in the locker rooms because of outdated plumbing. Sports teams from across the region visit DCS to compete in athletic competitions. Our schools are a source of community pride and that should be reflected in our athletic facilities. Both the girls' and boys' locker rooms are in need of renovations. The following pictures are of the girls' locker rooms. Remember to vote on Tuesday, December 12, from 1 - 9 p.m. at the Duanesburg Elementary School Gym.
Parking Lot
The proposal calls for paving the lower parking area to address
drainage problems, which makes the lot slippery during the
winter months from thawing and freezing.
