2007-08 Bus
Proposition
Along with the school budget, voters approved the purchase
of 4 new school buses of varying size
at a maximum cost of $234,621 including:
- One 42-passenger bus;
- Two 30-passenger buses;
and
- One 24-passenger
wheelchair bus.
The new buses will replace
older buses to keep pacer with the replacement schedule and will
also help the district to be more efficient in providing
transportation.
The
school district will borrow the funds to purchase the buses
before the opening of school in September 2008 and pay it back
over a four year period. The first payment will be due during
the 2008-09 school year.
Approximately 75 percent of the
cost will be covered by state transportation aid to reimburse
bus purchases including principal and interest costs.
