REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
July 10, 2007

Vision - Duanesburg Central
School District will become a model for smaller school districts
in New York State. Instructional excellence will be the bedrock
of the district characterized by a strong academic core,
technology integration and a challenging and stimulating
curriculum. Our educational program will include enrichment,
interdisciplinary teaching and active roles for students. All
students will be challenged and supported to achieve their
highest abilities. The district will value its students and
staff. The community will value and participate in our mission.
Our facilities will promote our mission.
Goals - The goals of the Board of Education include:
long range instructional, facilities, staff and financial
planning; continue to provide a positive, safe and healthy
school and community environment; review and approve Board
policies that comply with SED requirements; recognize the work
of outstanding students, faculty, staff, administrators and
district volunteers; continued monitoring of the Board of
Education’s internal and external communications; encouragement
of community and parental involvement to foster a spirit of
openness and togetherness and completion of committee goals.

Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the minutes of the regular meeting of 6/19/07 as submitted.
Motion by V. Pres. Breitenstein, seconded by Trustee Munson.

Financial Status Report
1. Approve Corrective Action Letter for 2005-06 Extra-Curricular
Activity Account.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the corrective action letter for the 2005-06 Extra-Curricular
Activity Account as recommended by the business administrator.
Motion by Trustee Munson, seconded by Trustee Moreno.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
2. Approve Cooperative Purchasing for Food, Cafeteria and
Custodial Supplies.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the Cooperative Purchasing for Food, Cafeteria and Custodial
Supplies as recommended by the business administrator.
Motion by Trustee Munson, seconded by Trustee Tkaczyk.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
3. Award Bid.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education award the
bid for the Walk-In Cooler/Freezer to the lowest bidder, B & G
Foodservice Equipment & Supply, at a cost not exceeding
$$26,400.
Motion by Trustee Holmes, seconded by V. Pres. Breitenstein.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
4. Claims Auditor’s Comments on July 10, 2007 Warrant
5. Approve Warrants.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the following warrants:
General Fund 2006-07 Final W#28 $275,799.68
Capital Fund W#17 $30,492.07
General Fund 2007-08 W#1 $95,532.07
Motion by Trustee Holmes, seconded by Trustee Moreno.

6. Approve Financial Reports.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the revised May Treasurer’s Report, Appropriation Status Report
and Revenue Budget Status Report as recommended by the business
administrator.
Motion by Trustee Tkaczyk, seconded by Trustee Munson.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
7. Approve Budget Transfers.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the Budget Transfers dated June 20, 2007 as recommended by the
business administrator.
Motion by Trustee Iseman, seconded by V. Pres. Breitenstein.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
Personnel Items.
1. Accept Resignations.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education accept the
following resignations:
Catherine Powers, PT Paraprofessional, effective June 22, 2007
Margaret Venter, Dispatcher, effective June 30, 2007
Motion by Trustee Iseman, seconded by Trustee Holmes.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
2. Approve Appointments – Motion to Executive Session.
3. Approve Salary Correction.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the change in salary for Patricia Smith, Summer Custodian, from
$7.15 to $7.50/hour. This is a correction from the 6/19/07 Board
of Education Meeting.
Motion by V. Pres. Breitenstein, seconded by Trustee Munson.
Yes: Breitenstein, Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Moreno, Munson,
Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
Other Items
1. Accept Donations.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education accept the
donations of $1,260 for Missoula Children’s Theater and $500 for
the Butterfly Project made by the Duanesburg Education
Foundation.
Motion by Trustee Munson, seconded by Trustee Moreno.

Tkaczyk. Motion Carried.
2. Dispose of Obsolete Equipment.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the disposal of obsolete band uniforms as recommended by the
business administrator.
Motion by Trustee Tkaczyk, seconded by Trustee Holmes.
