Vision - Duanesburg Central
School District will become a model for smaller school districts
in New York State. Instructional excellence will be the bedrock
of the district characterized by a strong academic core,
technology integration and a challenging and stimulating
curriculum. Our educational program will include enrichment,
interdisciplinary teaching and active roles for students. All
students will be challenged and supported to achieve their
highest abilities. The district will value its students and
staff. The community will value and participate in our mission.
Our facilities will promote our mission.
Goals - The goals of the Board of Education include:
long range instructional, facilities, staff and financial
planning; continue to provide a positive, safe and healthy
school and community environment; review and approve Board
policies that comply with SED requirements; recognize the work
of outstanding students, faculty, staff, administrators and
district volunteers; continued monitoring of the Board of
Education’s internal and external communications; encouragement
of community and parental involvement to foster a spirit of
openness and togetherness and completion of committee goals.

Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the minutes of the regular meeting of 4/3/07 as submitted.
Motion by Trustee Holmes, seconded by Trustee Remling.

Moreno, Munson. Motion Carried.

the following warrants:

Motion by Trustee Munson, seconded by Trustee Remling.

3. Approve Financial Reports.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the Treasurer’s Report, Appropriation Status Report, Revenue
Budget Status Report and ECA Report as submitted.
Motion by Trustee Holmes, seconded by Trustee Munson.
Yes: Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Remling, Munson. Absent:
Breitenstein, Moreno. Motion Carried.
4. Approve Budget Transfers.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the Budget Transfers dated April 4, 2007 as recommended the
business administrator.
Motion by Trustee Munson, seconded by Trustee Iseman.
Yes: Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Remling, Munson. Absent:
Breitenstein, Moreno. Motion Carried.
Personnel Items.
1. Approve Appointments.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the following appointments as recommended by the deputy
treasurer:
BOCES Substitute Teacher List
Motion by Trustee Iseman, seconded by Trustee Remling.
Yes: Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Remling, Munson. Absent:
Breitenstein, Moreno. Motion Carried.
Other Items
1. Approve 2007-2008 School Year Calendar.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the 2007-2008 School Year Calendar as recommended by the
superintendent.
Motion by Trustee Holmes, seconded by Trustee Munson.
Yes: Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Remling, Munson. Absent:
Breitenstein, Moreno. Motion Carried.
2. Approve New Textbook.
Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
new Grade 5 McGraw-Hill Mathematics textbook to be purchased
after July 1, 2007 as recommended by the principal.
Motion by Trustee Holmes, seconded by Trustee Iseman.
Yes: Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Remling, Munson. Absent:
Breitenstein, Moreno. Motion Carried.
3. Approve Field Trip.
Recommendations that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve
the field trip request to New York City on April 24, 2007 made
by Kevin DiTondo, Maureen Rynish and Tom Reiter.
Motion by Trustee Munson, seconded by Trustee Iseman.
Yes: Hawes, Holmes, Iseman, Remling, Munson. Absent:
Breitenstein, Moreno. Motion Carried.
