Sports Highlights
Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Softball and Track teams!
Duanesburg's Varsity Girls' Softball and Track and Field teams had
an outstanding spring season.
The Lady Eagles softball team won
their ninth straight league title, their second consecutive Class
C Title and made it all the way to the New York State Finals.
The Varsity Girls' Track Team won their second consecutive Class C
Title. One individual, Catie Coxton, went on to the New York State
Girls' Track Championships where she won fourth place in the state
for the discus with a distance of approximately 114'.
Nine sports
team recognized as scholar-athletes
Nine out of 12 varsity sports teams were recognized as New
York State Scholar Athletes during the 2005-06 school year. Varsity
teams with a
cumulative
average of 90 percent or higher during their sport
season qualify for the New York State Public High School Athletic
Association Award.
"The spring season finished off one of the most outstanding
academic/athletic seasons we ever had in Duanesburg history," said
Athletic Director John Conway. "Our coaches, student-athletes,
parents and community members should be very proud of the growth,
integrity and sportsmanship of our athletic teams."
